Organic Adzuki Beans

Organic adzuki beans are small, deep red beans with a slightly sweet, nutty taste and a tender texture when cooked. They are sold dry by weight from our bulk section, so you can take a cup for one pot of soup or a bag for the pantry.

Give them a rinse and a sort, soak overnight if you like, then simmer until tender. They are the bean behind sweet red bean paste in Japanese and Chinese desserts, and they are just as good in savoury dishes: chili, stews, rice bowls and salads. Cooked beans keep in the fridge for a few days or freeze well. Store dry beans in a sealed jar in a cool cupboard.
