Reiki Energy Healing

An hour of stillness, and a nervous system that remembers how to rest.

Energy work

Reiki at Luminate is practised by Nichole Campbell, a Reiki Master who is also our acupuncturist. Sessions are quiet, fully clothed, and done with light touch or hands held just above the body — your choice.

Understanding Reiki

What Reiki is

Reiki is a Japanese practice of gentle, focused touch. What most people notice is simple: the body drops into deep rest, the mind quiets, and things that have been stuck — tension, worry, a decision — loosen. You do not need to believe anything for it to be relaxing.

The Health Benefits

What Reiki can help with

What people report, in roughly the order they report it.

Less stress and anxiety

Deep rest is the first thing everyone notices. For many, that alone is the reason to come back — an hour where the body is allowed to stop bracing.

Emotional clarity

People often leave a session clearer about something they walked in tangled by. It is not therapy, but it makes room.

Support for healing

Reiki sits well alongside physio, massage, acupuncture or medical treatment. Rest is when the body repairs; Reiki is very good at rest.

Focus and creativity

A quiet mind has more room in it. Some clients book before a big piece of work for exactly that reason.

Our Care Process

How a session goes: prepare, receive, reflect

Three unhurried steps.

1

Prepare

A short intake and a word about what you want from the hour; table or chair, your call.

2

Receive

Nichole works through a sequence of positions with light touch or hands just above the body. Warmth, tingling, or simply deep stillness are all common.

3

Reflect

A quiet minute afterwards, some water, and a couple of simple things — breath, a walk, an early night — to carry it home.

Session Details

What a Reiki session looks like

Arrive five or ten minutes early for a short intake and tell Nichole what you are hoping for — sleep, stress, clarity.

You stay fully clothed. Light touch or hands-above-the-body, whichever you prefer, and you can change your mind mid-session.

A quiet room, soft music, and a blanket or eye pillow if you want one.

Nichole moves slowly through the positions and gives each one time. Most people drift.

Afterwards: water, a gentle few minutes, and a suggestion or two for the rest of the day.

Reiki is complementary care, not a replacement for medical treatment. Insurance coverage varies by plan; check your benefits.

Common Questions

Good to know

Do I have to believe in energy for Reiki to work?

No. Most people simply experience deep relaxation. The session is about comfort, consent and calm, not belief.

What should I wear?

Anything comfortable. You stay fully clothed throughout.

How many sessions will I need?

Some people feel the benefit after one session; others like a short series. Nichole will suggest what fits once she knows what you are hoping for.

Is Reiki safe during pregnancy?

Reiki is gentle and non-invasive. Tell Nichole your stage of pregnancy and any concerns so she can adjust positioning.

Can I combine Reiki with other therapies?

Yes. Reiki works well alongside chiropractic, physiotherapy, massage, acupuncture and naturopathic care — several of which are in the same building.

Is Reiki covered by insurance?

Coverage varies by plan in Canada. We provide receipts where a plan covers it.
