Lundberg's California-grown brown basmati is a long-grain whole grain rice with the fragrance of Indian basmati, though the grains do not lengthen as much when cooked. It comes out fluffy and on the drier side, with the bran intact for a fuller flavour than white basmati.

Reach for it when you want the grains to stay separate: pilafs, stuffing, rice salads, stir-fries and even rice puddings. Allow about 40 minutes on the stove, then a 10-minute rest with the lid on. Store the bag in a cool, dry place, or refrigerate it for a longer shelf life.
