About this product
Organic dried shiitake mushrooms, whole, from our bulk section and sold by weight. Dried shiitake keep for ages and carry a deep, savoury flavour that fresh ones cannot quite match, which is why so many kitchens keep a jar on hand.
To use them, soak in warm water for 20 to 30 minutes until soft, then slice and add to stir-fries, soups, ramen, risotto or braises. Do not throw out the soaking water; it makes a rich stock. Store the dried mushrooms in a sealed jar in a cool, dry cupboard.
