Kala namak is the Indian black salt, known for its distinctive sulphurous, savoury flavour. Sundhed's version blends Himalayan salt with kala namak, in a 210 g package.

It is a favourite in plant-based kitchens because a pinch gives tofu scramble, chickpea omelettes and vegan egg salad an egg-like taste. It is also traditional in chaat, chutneys, fruit salads and Indian drinks. Add it at the end of cooking, since heat softens its flavour. Keep it dry and sealed.
