About this product
Savera's ghee is clarified butter from predominantly grass-fed cows: butter that has been slowly cooked so the water and milk solids separate out, leaving golden butterfat with a nutty, toasty flavour. Because the milk solids are removed it is free of lactose and casein, and the only ingredient is clarified butter.
Ghee is suited to cooking and frying, including at higher heat, and it is the traditional fat for Indian cooking, from tempering spices to finishing dal. Stir a spoonful into rice, spread it on toast or use it in place of butter in baking. It keeps well in the cupboard with the lid on.
