Borage oil is pressed from the seeds of the borage plant and is one of the richest plant sources of gamma-linolenic acid, or GLA, an omega-6 fatty acid. Each NOW softgel holds 1000 mg of borage seed oil providing 240 mg of GLA, a good deal more concentrated than evening primrose oil; NOW puts one borage softgel at roughly the GLA of five standard evening primrose capsules.

The oil is over 80 percent polyunsaturated fat, and it is tested to be free of harmful levels of pyrrolizidine alkaloids. You will find it shelved with our omegas and beauty supplements. This is the larger 120-softgel bottle; a 60-count is also available.
