Inari Pearled Barley, 500 g

Inari Pearled Barley is barley with the outer hull and bran polished away, which is what lets it cook faster than hulled barley and turn soft with a gentle chew. It is one of the most useful grains to keep in the cupboard and one of the least expensive.

Simmer it in broth for a beef and barley soup, cook it slowly like a risotto with mushrooms, or boil it plain and toss it into salads with roasted vegetables and a sharp dressing. Rinse it before cooking. Store the 500 g bag sealed in a dry cupboard and it keeps for many months.
