Cyto-Matrix Saccharo-B, 60 Caps

Saccharo-B is Cyto-Matrix's single-ingredient probiotic built on Saccharomyces boulardii, a beneficial yeast rather than a bacterium. Each capsule gives 250 mg, standardized to at least 5 billion live organisms. S. boulardii has been used in Europe since the 1960s and is one of the most studied probiotic yeasts.

Because it is a yeast rather than a bacterium, it is a different kind of probiotic from the usual Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium products. Talk to your practitioner about whether it fits your routine. Directions are in the how-to-use section.

Saccharo-B
Saccharomyces boulardii is a nonpathogenic yeast that has been used for the treatment of gastrointestinal disease in Europe since the 1960s. It has successfully decreased the duration of gastrointestinal disease associated with antibiotic use, Crohn’s disease, and acquired immune-deficiency syndrome (AIDS).

Recent studies have shown S. boulardii’s ability to stimulate host mucosal disaccharidase activity and enhance the intestinal mucosal immune response. These activities may be involved in the mechanism by which S. boulardii reduces the recurrence of C. difficile colitis.
