About this product

Otovowen is a homeopathic oral remedy from Pascoe used to help relieve earache and ear discomfort. It is a liquid taken in drops by mouth, not put in the ear, and the label covers every age from infants up to adults, with the number of drops scaled by age.

The formula combines mother tinctures of echinacea, chamomile and elderberry with low homeopathic dilutions of several other ingredients in an alcohol and water base. Families tend to keep a bottle in the medicine cabinet for the first signs of a sore ear, then follow the general or acute dosing on the label. One 30 mL bottle holds about 810 drops.

How to use
Dosage Adults, adolescents ≥12 years: 12-15 drops. Children (6-11 years): 5-10 drops. Children (1-5 years): 4-7 drops. Infants (0-11 months): 2-4 drops. General dosing: Take 1-3 times a day. Acute dosing: Every 15-60 minutes (up to max. 12 times a day) or until improvement of symptoms. Then resume general dosing. Recommended duration of use Continue treatment until all symptoms have subsided. Do not use for more than 8 weeks. 1 bottle (30ml) contains 810 drops.

Inform your health care practitioner if you are taking any other medications. In isolated cases, hypersensitive reactions may occur with remedies containing echinacea. Skin rash, itching and in rare cases facial swelling, respiratory problems, dizziness, and a fall in blood pressure have then been observed.
