NOW Plant Enzymes is a blend of digestive enzymes formulated for a vegetarian diet. The enzymes come from fungal and fruit sources rather than animal ones: protease, alpha-amylase, lipase, cellulase and lactase, plus papain from papaya and bromelain from pineapple. Together they help support proper digestion by assisting in the breakdown of fats, fibre, proteins and carbohydrates in the food you eat.

The blend also includes lactase, the enzyme that breaks down milk sugar, which helps support the digestion of dairy for anyone sensitive to lactose. Take it with meals. Vegetarian capsules, 120 to a bottle.

• Cellulase (Trichoderma reesei) (whole fungus) 3.33 mg (500 FCC CU)
• Lactase (Aspergillus flavus var. oryzae) (whole fungus) 2 mg (200 FCC ALU)
• Papain (from Carica papaya) (fruit) 0.13 mg (6,000 FCC PU)
• Bromelain (from Ananas comosus) (fruit) 0.14 mg (5,000 FCC PU). Non-medicinal ingredients: Cellulose, veg capsule (hypromellose, water), calcium laurate, silica. Contains sulphites.
