Each enteric-coated vegetable capsule carries 16 strains of live, whole-cell bacteria, 55 billion in total, and is built to pass through stomach acid so the cultures arrive in the intestines intact. New Roots describes it as helping maintain healthy gut flora, with strains chosen with female urinary and vaginal health in mind.
