A single pearl sits on a fine gold chain, which keeps the piece light and simple enough to wear every day and easy to layer with other necklaces. Gold-filled means a thick layer of gold bonded over a base metal, so it wears longer than plating.
Put it on after perfume or lotion; pearls are soft and their surface dulls with chemicals. Take it off before showering or swimming, store it flat in a pouch so the chain does not tangle, and wipe the pearl and chain with a soft, dry cloth after wearing.
