Maison Orphée organic balsamic vinegar comes straight from Modena, Italy, where it is aged three years before bottling. That time in the barrel gives it a sweet, woody aroma and a rounder flavour than the thin, sharp balsamics on most shelves. There is one ingredient on the label: organic balsamic vinegar.

Whisk it with olive oil for a vinaigrette, pour a little into a dish with good oil for dipping bread, or splash it over grilled vegetables just before they come off the heat. A small bottle goes a long way. Keep it in the cupboard with the cap on tight.
